Flor de Luna

Flor de Luna is regarded as one of the classic soap operas that paved the way for modern teleseryes in the Philippines. It was shown on RPN-9 in the 1980s starring the young Janice de Belen in the title role. Flor de Luna was about an 11-year-old girl who wants to bring her family together amidst the trials and tribulations they face in their lives. It became critical and commercial phenomenon. The teleserye was actually based on a radio drama from the 1970s entitled Flordeluna, written by Marcos Navarro Sacol. Child star Julie Vega was first offered the role of Flor de Luna but turned it down due to schedule conflict. de Belen became the newest child star
